Jusst got back from looking at 4 IH WFE assemblies a neighbor has for sale. One is the very old tie rod in front model. I wanted one for a SMTA but all these looked the same, and were for the H-M? Was there a difference in the WFE'S for the H and M and SMTA? How do you tell which is which? I know the SMTA had larger inner and outer wheel bearings on larger hubs, but were the WFE's standardized? Were there different size front axles on WFE's for the SM, SMTA? Anyone looking for IH WFE maybe we can get together and take the whole lot?

Gordo, The SMTA had the newer style WFE with the tierods behind the axle, rather than in front as did the H, M, SH series I, and SM. The SMTA was the same as the 400 and 450. Not to be confused with the Swartz, the IH rear tierod WFE had a cast pivot mounting rather than a square rolled steel mounting of the swartz.
