Did Farmall make extra-wide front rims for 300 400

I have some wide front rims that fit my 300 row-crop. They are the style that has the three bolts to connect near the rim beads.

The rims are very wide; about 8" instead of the normal 5". They look to have an extra band of metal that was welded in place to make them wide. The weld is very clean and looks professional.

Are these factory, or home-built? Are they rare? I'm selling them, but was curious if these are hard to find.

Ron: I don't remember these 50 years ago. I would say aftermarket, and very likely a small local fabricator. You can buy the three lugs for installing in your own rims. Miller Tire have them in their catalogue.

We really didn't see wide tires on Farmalls until the 06 and 56 series and then only the 80 hp plus tractors.

Someone has widened them. I have a friend that does it all the time for people. He got so good at it he uses a break drum lathe & " chucks" the rim in it. He has a Plasma cutter to cut them. When welding in the new piece he has a mount for his wire welder gun and a clip for the trigger. Talk about looking professional. I'm sure their will be someone wanting yours but their not factory or rare

I made some for my loader tractor like these. Went around the inside of the rim and basicaly cut one side off. Then welded a two inch flat strap around the rim, welded the outer side back on and wala, a wide enough rim to put the no flat airplane tires on from Genesco. Love em, Harley
