Farmall 460-560 WARNING

For all of you boys out there with Farmall and Int. 460-560 check your main battery cable from the battery to the starter just got home from repairing a Farmall 460 Gasser that the original Battery cable shorted out on the FUEL TANK and was real close to burning thru and with a half tank of high test things could have shell we say interesting.

The best I ever seen was the dairy farmer who used baling wire wrapped with electrical tape.

Thanks for the warning, tractor vet. I'm always surprized by how neglected the electrical systems and wiring are on these old tractors. I'm sure you've seen just as many as I have where somone's connected two wires just by twisting them together and mabey wrapping a little tape around them. Of course, all of the oil dripping on the wiring makes the tape fall off! I hate it when someone wants me to fix a mess like that without rewiring the whole tractor. If only everyone knew what a disaster waiting to happen bad wiring is!

My favort is the extenshion cord and wire nuts to repair bad wireing or just wire nuts . well it took me over four hours but it is done correctly and to color code and correct Ga.
