Any of you good guys get to the Mt. Pleasant, IA Old Thresher's Reunion yesterday or today? With the price of gas, are there many old tractors there? Letter series Farmalls? Parts vendors? I want to make sure it's worth going before I burn up a tank or two of gas.

I live near the show and have two tractors on display. At noon on each day there is the Calvacade of Power. This is where hundreds of old cars, trucks, steam engines and tractors parade in front of the grandstand. Each one is identified as it passes in front of the viewing stand. Friday's parade lasted two hours. The parade runs today and Sunday, not sure about Monday. Lots of tractors but not much for farmall parts. Gas is $3.00 + today. Lots to see. Marv

Just spent most of yesterday there. No real parts vendors, lots if F series, some M's, MTA, some old crawlers. If you like stuff other than IH, Massy is the show tractor, lots of interesting stuff in their section. Quite a few off brand things that I'd never heard of. Not nearly as much green as you'd think. The steam engines are just awesome to watch. The church's all have outstanding meals in the new dining hall. The volunteers are all some of the nicest people you will ever meet. Last night when I came home, Wal-Mart was 2.99 on ethanol, 2.89 on diesel. They take another 5 cents off if you pay witha Wal-Mart card. The Hy-Vee (grocery store chain in the mid west) has a gas station as well, for some reason they were 3.11 on ethanol, so it could be higher this morning. I'm going back today because there is just no way you can take it lal in in a day. If your wife doesn't like tractors, she can ride a free shuttle bus to the town square which has dozens of crafty type vendors set up. Single day tickets to the show are $7 a person, there is free parking if you follow the signs and busses to shuttle you around. I really hope you and anyone else here decides to come. It is an outstanding show with a little bit for eveyone.
