How do you remove the brake piece that is right next to the tractor frame. I removed the brake assembly and tried tapping it with a hammer but it seems to be stuck tight. There must be seals on those brake shafts. They aren't leaking yet, should I leave them alone?

TDK is right, there are slots in the inner surface that you can get pry bars in and work it out.

It's been a while, but I believe that part Super C is removable. Look around the outer edges for a couple of slots to put a pry bar under and work it back and forth. There's an o-ring that makes it somewhat tight. In the parts manual on a S/C thru 230 it appears to come apart in this manner also.

That piece may be part of the bull pinion assembly, and may not come off.

As I recall, a typical Farmall disk brake assembly will be something like this:

1. Housing.
2. Friction disk.
3. Ramp and ball assembly.
4. Friction disk.
5. Tractor frame.
