Bought a tractor,havent pickedup yet,sent check 6 weeks ago-hasnt been cashed,they want cash.

They might want cash so there is no paper trail for the IRS. If you get your check back and the tractor for the cash you have what you want. I never figured there were any guarantees on used stuff bougut privately anyway and buy based on that premise.

Something doesn't compute. In that lenght of time they could have cashed the check and knowed it cleared. I'd want some kind of guarentee to go with the tractor, a 30 day one or something. But, than some people only like to deal in cash. There are still a few around. Nothing wrong with that. Take them the cash but try out the tractor before handing it to them.

Actually, sounds like honest folk to me. If they were dishonest they would have cashed the check by now and disappeared.

Corky, if they want cash, give them cash... Unless YOU are the dishonest one trying to pass off a rubber check...
