Blew a head gasket in our 424D and spun a rod bearing. Did inframe rebuild; new liners, rings and pistons and rod bearings. Ran good for break in period (12hrs) but now got water in oil AGAIN! Any thoughts as to what we did wrong? Could something be cracked and we just missed it? We've done a bunch of gas o/h but this is our first diesal. Any input will be greatly appreciated.

Diesel engines have a notorious habit of eroding metal parts around the cylinders. This can happen either around the sleeve or the block where the O rings go to seal around the sleeves. You might have missed this.

To check pull the pan like Hal said and look to see where the water is coming from.

Did you have that head magna-fluxed for cracks?
Look for bubbles in the radiator. Are those wet or dry sleeves? The wet sleeves somtimes seep
around the seals at the bottom of the sleeves. You may want to drop the oil pan and look for any coolant leakage. Apply some air pressure to the radiator 10-12 pounds and look for leakage. That antifreeze is hard on bearings. Hal
