Farmall H - More Questions

A couple additional questions about the newly purchased H: Was original color of the muffler silver or black?I've seen both in photos.

Is it possible to research serial # for information such as, what date was tractor shipped from factory and original ship-to location? Where do you start with this? I know that JD has an archives that does this. Does IH?

Where can I find a pair of fenders for this tractor, either new replications or great condition used ones?

Thanks

The original muffler color probably was black, but I doubt if you will find a black muffler unless you piant it yourself. Here is a link to the Wisconsin historical society archives. They have pretty much all of the IH records.

Thanks for the website.
Great pictures including the ones showing hundreds of Farmalls ready for shipment...all with silver mufflers.

I bought a set of fenders for an "H" from Steel Wheel Ranch and was pleased with their help and with the fenders. New, primed, and needed final paint.
www.steelwheelranch.com.

Consider getting the extensions that move the fenders farther out from the seat.

Regarding fenders - go to the "Photo Ads" section of this site (see link to left) and click on 'All Categories' then do a search for "Fenders", scroll down until you see a listing for fenders for 'h&m".
