Have a tool box of the type I think was on binders and mowers. It is 12 x 5 3/4 x 4 in size and I managed to staighten it so it is almost perfect. Has two holes drilled in one side and a wooden bottom. The IHC emmbossed on the lid is in perfect shape. Can anyone tell me what this might be worth and any other info you might have on this. Thanx

Thanks you guys for all the information/ comments. Don't you think I could get some good conversation going if I mounted it under the seat of my SC Case? (grin)

I found one like you describe a couple years ago. I mounted it on the back PTO "shelf" on my F20. It fit very nicely, and I get a lot of comments on it at shows. Mine came off a sickle bar mower. Nice little tool box.

My father had a binder in the 40's. Below the seat was the type of tool box that you described. A wood bottom and a lid with IHC stamped in the metal. It held the tools he needed to repair the binder canvas when they got out of line. Any of course, other things. I have that box now and it is plain metal, no paint.

they are a nice little box but common as dirt and I seldom get $15 for one. $5 - 10 is more in line.

The 2 holes in the end are where a loop was riveted on for holding an oil can. These tool boxes are quite interesting and make good conversation starters. The sad part is that they will seldom bring more than $10. They are not rare.

Nebraska - Rusty,
Were the tool boxes on implements?
Don"t think I"ve ever seen one, but have not been an IH / Farmall guy for very long...
