Another question? My serial number that i got of the seat on my bn is FABN 120363 which makes it a 1945. My question is i want to know if it has the original motor or not. I looked on the block and found 6342 DH on the block below #1 spark plug. How do i know if it is the origanl block. Sorry for all the questions but i am new to farmall"s and just trying to learn. Thanks Mike from MI

Jim and El Toro,
Thanks for the information, Jim i just checked it and the block number matches the one on the seat so it is the original block. Thanks for your time Mike from MI

In '45, the engine and serial numbers on a BN would have matched. The engine number is stamped into a machined boss on the right side of the block. It is at the very top edge of the block, at the front. It is obstructed by the governor control rod.

IH uses a date code that's cast into the block.
Example: 5 * 8 O Hal
That last figure is the letter O

May 8, 1945
