Our local Heritage Days was going on this weekend...I didn't have anything on display this year. This 1941 H has been there as long as I can remember. There was a discussion a few months ago about how the harvester was mounted and where the front end bolted up. Here is a picture for you to see. It has all the parts from the scalper back. Even the wrench bolted to the chain guard! There were a few other IH pieces....Fairway 12, W30, W4, M with Cab, 350, etc... If I knew how to post more than one picture at once, I would. If anyone can help me with that I would appreciate it.

Most H & M tractors imported into the UK between 1940 to 49 were fitted with WFE the adapter plate was also fitted in the rear position so that they could get more tractors on the ships. A few beet harvesters were also imported. MJ

Great picture, thanks for posting. How hard did this machine tax the H's horsepower? How fast did it move through the field? My understanding this is the exact machine that got IHC into the WFE business And why the tie rods and everything else is way out front. Not to open an old discussion but I notice that the WFE plate is not installed to get the WFE even farther out front. My nickel Dick Davis

Lots of good questions...I never used one. My dad spent a lot of time on one riding the sorting table as a kid, however. He said that the H was definitely not the better of the two to use! The 100 inch axle needed for installation tended to snap in half quite regularly. The bigger axle for the M was much sturdier. I guess you didn't need the extension plate....everything fits without it...
