I need to buy spark plugs, and an oil filter for my 1958 Cub, and my local NAPA dealer can't help me. Can anyone suggest somewhere on line I can go too.
Thanks

Tom:

I would suggest that you run a google search for Carter & Grunewald which is an online dealer.

There are a few others, you can do a google for Case Tractor Parts and you should get a few thousand hits.... :-))

Here is what you need:

Oil Filter is IH Part Number 376373R91, which will cross reference to

AC P-321
Fram C-235
NAPA 1153
Wix 51153
purolator L2008 or L2009
FleetGuard LF-672

Spark Plugs:

RD18Y is the type.

Champion D-21 or D-16 are recommended, but will cross to AC, Bosch, NGK or your favourite brand.

Btw., if you have a local CaseIH Dealer.. just give him the filter part number and he should have it in stock. Also ask him for the plugs.. they should have them in stock too....

Must be a mistake on the Fram conversion number as the correct number is C-135.

Brian:

Could possibly be. Would suggest checking with Jim Becker as he has maintained the ATIS charts for years.

Your local NAPA is either staffed by idiots or they dont know what a tractor is.You can take the plug # and they can cross it over, and you can take a ramble onto wixfilters.com and get the part # of a WIX filter.....the NAPA is only missing the first digit (WIX makes NAPA filters).
Otherwise,I wouldnt give them a 2nd chance.
I used to work at a NAPA for over 10 years, there is no formal training for any of their staff. Its purely optional. So their TV commericals about NAPA guys knowing their stuff is pure bunk.If I didnt have the smarts before/during,I wouldnt have learned anything from NAPA itself (as a company,a division of GPC Genuine Parts Co.).

Your local auto parts store should be able to
obtain plugs for your tractor. Either Champion
15A, AC 85S or Autolite BT8 can be used. If you have a Tractor Supply Company in your area, they should have plugs and a filter.

Here's a website for tractor dealers in your area.

If you can not find any Case/IH dealers you can
contact them in another state and have your parts drop shipped to you. Hoober in Delaware will do that and I think the other IH dealers will too.
