Looking to rebuild a carb. But i NEED A KIT THAT HAS THE INLET FITTING COMPLEte with the strainer and the fibre washer for that fitting. I can't seem to find a kit that has that strainer fitting. It is soldered onto the brass fitting. Is is available seperately? I also noticed that the same fitting works on all the IH carbs from 39 t0 54, H through SMTA.

Where are you located? My dealer has them.

OK, I'm off to the IH dealer tomorrow. If they don't have it, I/m looking for Dave to go back to that dealer and get me a couple.

The part number is 29902DX for the fitting and screen. I have never ordered one but have gotten other parts from Case for the Carb.

If you decide to go the route that Rusty sugested (making your own screen) I have some brass screen that would work well for fuel screen if you can"t find any locally. Let me know.

Gordo, that fitting is available in a kit from your Case-IH dealer, but that particular kit will cost right at $100. You can probably purchase the fitting seperately. Any rebuild kit should have the gasket in it. Your other option is to visit a hardware store and buy some very fine mesh brass or stainless screen and make your own. The screen is soldered into the fitting.

I recently bought that kit from CIH and it cost me $73.00. (ouch) When he pulled out his box of fuel line fittings, I saw he had about a dozen carb fittings complete with the screen, so they are available seperately from CIH. I would suggest that you call around to a couple of CIH parts desks and see if you can find one.
