A good general rule is 15hp per bottom.

The 53 Super C that I own will pull a fast hitch with 2/14's no problem .
The front end gets a little up in the air from time to time ,need another set of weights up front to help hold her down .

FWIW, I pull a 2-14 eight inches deep in clay with 32hp and 500 pounds of wheel weight on a 5,000 pound tractor.

I have a mounted 2-14" plow for my C. It seems to handle it ok.

Wheaty, I believe the Super C and the C both were mated up with a 2-14"bottom plow.

I pull one with my Farmall B. It is only about 15 HP and the ground is really loose in the garden I plow. And is all the B will do to pull it in 1st gear. Thats why I bought an F-20.

Dad pulled 2 14"s with an F-12 in some pretty tough going. Dont know what gear. That same land made my 706 ger. set up and pay attention with 4 16"s on the fast hitch.
