Was the AV a separate model designation with AV showing up on the hood decal and serial number plate? Or was it an A with factory options to make a V out of it? Or was it put together at the dealer/owner level by juggling with available parts? Anyway, should an AV command a price higher than an A, all other things being equal? If so, how much?

The price depends on how bad you want it, and how much more you are willing to pay for it, than the equivalent A model. I would prefer a Super AV because of the hydraulics. I have never seen one. If a Super A in the same condition was worth, say, $1500-$2000, I "might" pay $2000-$2500 for the Super AV. Anything above $2500 for any letter series tractor, and I get cold feet. Possible exception is the Super MTA.

Yes, Yes, No, Yes, I don't know. Actually AV, the V stands for vegetable, not vinyard. It's a high clearance model that had a higher axel, and larger rear wheels.

First off, the AV was not a vineyard tractor. It was a highcrop- the V actually sttod for vegitable.

The AV was a factory produced tractor and had decals and serial numbers that reflected this. AVs are fairly common- don't know what the price differnetial would be, it would depend on how common or uncommon they were in your area, and the condition.

If you do see something called a A vineyard, that would be something put together- entirely possible.
