H foul plugs

52 H fouls plugs they get really black. compression pretty good. tried to lean out carb but still fouls plugs after a couple hours.
any ideas.
what is the strobe timing of the Mag?

Everybody has put you in the right direction. Years ago I changed to AC C-87 plugs instead of Champions and have a lot less fowled plugs. Clean air filter also.

Maine, if the plugs come out exhibiting a flat black colored sooty deposit, thats indicative of excess unburned fuel. Causes can be low compression,,,,, ,,,,, , running the fuel too rich (carb jets or needles or choke sticking or air inlet or cleaner clogged up),,,,, ,,,,, a weak spark,,,,, ,,,,, or too cold plugs.

Things that help are using shutters or thermostats to get the temp up to 180 or more,,,,, ,,run a heat range or two hotter plug then specified,,,,, ,,have a good hot spark.

If leaning the fuel mixture dont help and if theres so inlet air restrictions, you may wanna giver her a good ignition tune up n run a hotter plug.

Two things. Rebuild the carb. And, sounds like the engine could be sucking oil either past the rings and/or the valve guides.

Rebuild the carb and put a can of Seafoam in the gas tank and crankcase to loosen up the rings.
