Got the front axle angle figured out and went with the steel fuel line for the carb, thanks for the help on this one guy's. Now,,,,, A 1940 McCormick Deering Farmall "A". Was it a cultivision "A" or just a regular "A"? I believe that I have the original hood and you can faintly see that it said Cultivision. However, the posibility lies that this tractor may have been a "Dealer Re-paint" at some time and might have had a decal change. The "McCormick Deering" decal sets available only show it as an "A" and the decal sets with "IH" McCormick sets show it as a "Cultivision" Whats left of the water transfers on my hood read "McCormick Deering" and doesnt have the "IH" insignia on it and also says Cultivision across the "A" My first thoughts is to go with the cultivision A decal. So, what are your thoughts on this? Steve in MT

Steve, I also have a 1940 A, and I do believe that the "cultivision" was added later, as I read somewhere, but don"t have the info right here handy. Your hood decal is indeed correct in that it is sans the IH logo and has McCormick Deering above Farmall. You wont go wrong with the "A" decal sans cultivision. If your "A" is crank start only, then it is an early 40, which would definitely not display the cultivision with the "A".

Actually, the cultivision started showing up on the decals in September, 1939.

Thanks guy for setting me straight. I was looking for the source of my information but cant find it. Having said that, I would defer to your expertise, since you have probably done much more research than the source from which I was referring to. I know this question keeps popping up from time to time as to the time frame and circumstance regarding the appearance of "cult-vision" on the "A". "B", and "BN" models.

Thank you for the reply gentelmen, My "A" looks to be built somewhere between August and say September? in 1940 according to the serial number and casting codes. It does have the electric starter and serial tag is on the seat bracket. I am going to go with the cultivision decal mostly because thats what was on it and I think it looks better. Now to get it ready for the thressing bee this weekend. Thanks again
