I have spent much time already trying to remove the two old seals from the pto. I have taken the whole unit off the tractor now. I believe I have to use a puller to remove the large gear from the pto shaft. After that can I just press that shaft from the inside out to remove the remainder of that seal? Any help appreciated. I couldnt find a blowup of that in my manual. Thanks.

OK got it apart. I removed the engagement lever assembly that engages the pto first. Then was able to use a puller to remove the large gear from the pto shaft along with the woodruff key and then remove the shaft. Boy, that old seal was a bear to get out!!!! The new seal is nothing compared to the old one. Thanks.

Well, you did better than I. I tried to drive the shaft out instead of using a puller. That won't work because the woodruff key catches on the housing preventing the shaft from coming out. Fortunately, I realized the problem before any significant damage was done. My experience, the gear came off fairly easy with a puller. Old thick seal is a challenge! New single seal works good. No leaks.
