Are Farmall disc brakes any good? I've heard that they are not very good because they glaze. Where is the best place to buy discs?

You will need to know the thickness of a new disk, (this is important) take your old disk down to a clutch&brake relineing shop and have clutch lining material installed on the disks, also clean the actuator, check springs, balls etc take a small side grinder with a fine disk and go over metal surfaces. Take the one that is on the tractor off check seal and replace if needed. This will work. I have 3 tractors with dry brakes Have done this to all of them. Will cost a little more ,but its well worth it

Unless they are worn badly, just take the glaze off with some sandpaper, clean up the steel plates good, and clean up the balls and ramps. You can put a litle never seeze or such on the balls when you put them back together and they should work fine. They should be cleaned probably every year to work best.
