Diesleman_52: You really cannot tell what year your Cub is simply by decoding the casting dates, The best you can do is get an approximation. I can tell you though, that if nothing has been changed then what you have is either a McCormick-Deering Farmall Cub or a McCormick Farmall Cub. The difference being that in 1949 IH dropped the Deering name from most Farmalls and just used up the old stock decals before switiching. Now your casting codes: Transmission housing # *3*4*S* equates to March 4th 1949 Left bull gear housing # *3*15*S equates to March 15th 1949 Engine # *6*25*T* equates to the 25th of June 1950. Ih typically used up most of a yearly casting production within about 6 months, so typically a set of March castings would be used up by September or October of that year. Your Casting Codes vary by over 15 Months which could equate to almost 2 years.. so quite probably your engine has been swapped. In behind the Carb and just below the manifold is a boss that has the Engine Serial Number on it. Let me know what that is and we might be able to solve your question a bit further. Also, there is a serial number plate on the front bolster just behind the steering rod entry to the steering box. There should be an entry such as FCUB then a up to 6 digit serial number possibly followed by a J and then an 1800 which is the RPM's. If you can find that then you can tell for sure what year. If it is missing, the best we can do is an educated guess.
