Is there a conversion kit available to convert the Farmall 140 muffler to go down and to the rear? Also, Are there smaller steering wheels available? The steering wheel on my 1969 model is so large that I cannot straighten my leg to press the clutch without hitting it. Thanks

ng: On the steering wheel issue, try making some adjustments to the seat. I am 6'2" and 200+lbs. and have SA, 130 and 140 all with large steering wheels. I raised all seat 1.5" to 2.5" and made it so they go back about 4" further. I have a small steering wheel here, for SA or 130, that alone will not make the difference.

Thanks. I did adjust the seqt back as far as it goes but maybe I need to make some custom modifications!

NG: Which seat do you have? The pan seats as on the Super A's and some of the 100, 130 and 140 are quite simple. I used 1.5" square tubing which raise seat 1.5" and I made the long enough so seat will go as much as 4" further back.

On the delux seat and with fast hitch I used 4 pieces of 1.5" square tubing 2 from side to side on seat supports and the other two on top of and perpendicular to those. Raised 3" and allowed to go back 4 inches further. You have to get these seats so fast hitch doesn't strike them and break things up. In both cases I put all this together with 5/16 bolts.

Another one I am going to try some day is put a u joint on steering shaft down near steering box then raise the steering wheel about 2 or 3 inches. Might even shorten the steering shaft a bit. I have a feeling this could be the cat's meow.

One the early 140's, the Super A steering wheel was the same and a little smaller. Don't know for sure about a '69. You might have to pull yours and measure the bore. I have never seen an underslung exhaust on a 140, but the 240 Utility had one. You might get an exhaust elbow for one of those and have a pipe bent to fit.
