I am restoring a 54 SH and the gas tank is rusted through. This is the first time I have seen this on such a thick gas tank as is on an old farmall, but I guess their is a first time for everything. I have found one but they are asking 400.00 for it and was thinking that was a little steep. I know an H tank won,t work because of the Hyd resvoir position under the tank. If anyone might have a tip on one it would be appreciated.

I can't help you find a SH stage II tank, but a H or SH stage I tank may work with some plumbing on the sediment bulb. The stage II sediment bulb sits further to the rear of the tank. Marv

Yes, I looked at my H and SH and you are correct -- dunno why the numbers are the same, likely because a SH tank probably fits an H, but not the other way around. My H book actually shows a later suffix than my SH book.

Mike at Steel Wheel Ranch may have one -- 785-548-7437. Except for the suffix, the H and SH fuel tanks have the same part number --- .
