I put new oil and temp gauges on my M -- the old ones didn't work. Well, the new ones don't work either. Is there some trick I am missing? The removal and installation seemed to be rather straightforward.

thanks

get the clear plastic line for the oil gauge, it will tell you pressure or not on any given day..

water gauge... is there a thermostat in it???

I agree, take of the oil line and fittings and blow then out, bet something is plugged with crud. As for the temp gauge, unless you are working it, it will barely move. Takes a lot to heat it up.

Check to see if the oil presure line is plugged. I'd take it off at the block and blow it out and make sure that the port is open. As far as the temp guage, if it is the factory one with the bulb on the end it might be working and indicating that your engine is not warming up as it should possibly

You didnt over tighten them, did you? That will ruin them.
