What color should the sickle bar mower for a Farmall Cub be painted (I think it is a #22)? I think it is some shade of dark blue, but I don't know what specific color it is supposed to be. I am in the process of rebuilding / restoring a sickle mower for my father in law (It's a surprise).
Also, can the ledger plates on the rock gueards be replaced? The sickle sat outside for years, and although the rock guards are in decent shape (just rusty) the ledger plates are deeply pitted. I priced new guards, and they are around 7 dollars a piece (19 needed). Any help here would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for all the help!
I will be sure to check in again when the next issue arises.

"Pink"? That's funny.

The guards will come clean in a few acres of mowing. I purchased new ledger plates at my dealer for about 45 cents a piece. Requires a little work but not that difficult. My bar had the paint worn as will new paint after mowing a few acres. I would clean and keep oiled.

Ace Hardware - IH Blue, Van Sickle # 460. I believe the IH designation was 5150 Blue. Also called Implement Blue. The ledger plates are replaceable.

IH 1150B Blue is the code most tossed around. There has been some discussion as to 5150, but nothing has come up to establish this code. This can be found on the paint chart on the Cub Manual Server.

Dupont #24160
Sherwin-Williams #3736
DITZ/PPG #10067

are alos know cross references.

Also the wooden grass board is the Cream #390D for Impliments Post 1941.. I think the closest match available today is either the 902 or 905 White from Cub Cadet.

All of this can be found at www.cleancomputes.com/Cub/index.html...

I used ppg 10067 for my #12 cutter bar, pre 49 implement blue. It's a lot lighter than the ones I'm seeing on post 49 cub implements. Can you post the Cub site again, I used to have it and lost it. I didn't have any luck with the one you left in your message. Thanks
