Found some 560D's for 2K each and am wondering good points and bad. Any particular problem areas with these tractors? They're 2 pt so I can use my 300U stuff.

I haven't had the good fortune of checking them out yet. They're 800 miles away at a dealer. Talked to a salesman and he says they got them with a mess more equipment. They're evidently consignment, and from his view there's not ehough money in them to do any checkouts. To the point that he couldn't even tell me if they ran! Seems a bit much BS to me. Totally up to a prospective buyer. I'd really like to get something like a 560D. Listening to you folks opinions it sounds exactly like where I want to be in the near future. Condition isn't too critical to me as long as price reflects the condition. I can repair whats needs done.

You didn't say what kind of condition these tractors are in. If they were turbo charged at one time the rear end may have been work too hard. How well does it start? What kind of oil pressure do they have? The oil pressure should be low when it is started cold because the filter may be drained and slowly rise to 45 psi and remain there after running a short time. Is the TA good? Does the engiine run smooth or is there a miss? If these items are OK then you are getting a great deal. If they are not OK you will need to put good money into it to make it right. I love my 560 diesel and have never had any real problem with it and I paid $2,750 for mine two years ago.

price sounds right, only common problem on any old IH is the TA and you have to decide, do I need it or not. The old 282 will run forever and on very little fuel, just make sure the glow plugs work come winter.

Except for being without 3 point (which don't seem to bother you) the 560 diesel is nealy bullet proof and will run forever.
