M and W Hand Clutch????

I was wondering what you had to do to get the M and W hand clutch off a M Farmall I don"t know if you got to take the top plate off or if it is all under the clutch housing never tried to take one off need it gone no handle to operate it so we are sure that it doesn"t work any help would be appreciated

I believe you have to pull the rear end cover off, pull out the rear axle and bull gear, and then pull out the M & W clutch. You will have to get a new carrier for the pinion to put it back together with no clutch.

Go to the left margin under Galleries "Vintage Ads", scroll to bottom of the page, do a search for M&W Hand Clutch and you should be rewarded with an 8 page instruction manual for the M&W Clutch including Installation instructions and an Illustrated Parts Breakdown. From this you can determine exactly what to do reverse the install part. Thanks to Knaff of PA for posting the info. You might want to consider repairing the clutch as they can be very useful, but if not some of the removed parts might find a market in the classifieds. My nickel Dick Davis
