Is there any sort of trouble shooting guide on the market for a 350 row crop hydraulic system? Finally got the tractor indoors, and now I am not sure were to start. Both hydraulics and power steering are gone. Have drained the reservoir, and cleaned the filter. Relpaced with new hydrualic fluid. Is there a way to check the hydraulic pump without pulling it off? The system just up and quit one day while the tractor was running. I would like to think there is a clog somewhere, but not sure how to track it down or get started. I would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks

Hi Ken,

Top left of this website page click on tractor manuals and order a service & Hydraulic manual. Thease manuals will lead you step by step thru the entire hydraulic system.

Without testing and learning where to test, your guessing and so are we.

Hey Ken,

If you've cleaned that screen and have supply oil to the pump, I'd suspect that pump, itself.

Those things have a nasty habit of wallowin' out the aluminum body.

Dunno, hope you get 'er goin'

Allan,
Thanks for the follow up. Do you have a recommendation for a reputable place for replacement pumps. I have gotten parts from Steel Wheel Ranch before and had good luck. Anyone else worth checking out for price checking? Thanks again.

Hate to hijack, but my power steering quit working (Charlyn add on)(350 row crop also) but the rest of the hydraulics work fine - what is the starting point to diagnosis this?

In my situation, both went out at the same time. None of the 3 valves appear to be working. I am ready to strip the tin off and start looking around. I have not checked the breather yet to see if it is clogged. Murphy likes me to much for that to be the case. When last used, the tractor worked fine until it was time to park it. Went to drop the bucket and nothing happened. From then on, neither the bucket, steering, or 2pt fast hitch operated. I started with the basic drain, clean, and re-fill the hydraulic fluid reservior. Now it is time to dig futher. I am hopefull that it is something as simple as a clogged line, but not very optomistic. I have seen others posting with simlar problems as mine, but do not recall if the solutions were ever posted. I would love to read about some of the solutions if anyone has had a similar experience. Thanks

If one of the spool (control)valves has its switch out of place the system can lock up as described. the switches are on the spool end of the valves and are roll pins under a sheet metal detent strip. I think they should be counter clockwise for normal two way use. If other than this it could be a stuck open pressure regulator spool. A manual is needed to proceed to these steps.
l o luck
