I"m losing power on my IH Cub After approx 30 minutes of mowing, It just chokes down and barely runs. Runs well when mower not engaged. If I wait till the next day, it runs fine for a short time again. I"ve changed the coil, Plugs, condenser, points, set the timing. The screen in the Carb. is clean. Any suggestions? Could there be trash in the carb?(But why does it run fine in all gears except when mower engaged?) I changed coil twice (just to see) it gets pretty warm to touch, is this normal?

Check the tank for floating debris. There is also a screen at the tank outlet to the sediment bowl. Another thing that can be happening is that the vent in the gas cap is plugged and as fuel is being drawn down, a vacuum is being created in the tank which will affect fuel flow. Just loosen the gas cap when it starts to die down and see if that helps.

It sounds like a fuel restriction. You may have some debris in the tank which partially plugs the opening allowing low fuel flow but not enough to power the mower.

Siphon most of the fuel out and look in the tank to see if you can see anything. I have had fiberous trash float around in the tank until it plugged the opening during use.
