I"ve run across a FA/IH with an ID below the #1 plug of FA 335490. I would like more information on the tractor.

It Runs pretty good except it has to be hand-cranked. That"s ok for me but, the gentleman that owns it has suffered a stroke limiting his right arm mobility. I sure would like to help him out any way I can.

The prefix is FAA, it is a 1952 Super A -- should have battery ignition. By 1952 "most" Frmalls had a battery and a distributer, but it could have a magneto and a battery also. If it has no battery it has to have a magneto. The battery ignition, if it has one, is easy to fix.

It has a battery, with a "Pull" lever to engage the starter. Not sure if it"s the solenoid/switch mounted on the starter itself or the starter is shot.

Battery has to be good, you need large cables with all connections clean. The cleanliness includes the connections inside the light/ignition switch box.

The battery set up on that should be positive ground, and if battery is good, check out the starter solenoid on top of the starter. If either the solenoid or the starter are bad, repairing either is not too expensive. P.S. Check out the starter using jumper cables or long battery cables see if it turns over ! Really it's an easy fix, so enjoy! Jim
