I was checking the serial number on 69 international cub and found the J suffix, and found this to mean rockford clutch (please tell me if that is wrong). what is a rockford clutch? how does it differ froma a "normal" clutch? what was it for? thanks so much for your replies, I have found GOOD answers here in the past and enjoy the site alot even though I don't post much.

thank y'all so much for your replies. I will have more questions about it in the future. Here's one now. what is the difference in an International C-1 C-2 and C-3 rotary mower. I am trying to figure out which mine is so I can order a manual. I do know mine is about 4 feet wide and has one blade. When I can I will try to post a picture of it. thanks again

Seems the most obvious difference is that the Rockford clutch has six springs, where the standard, or Auburn clutch only had three springs.

This is a Rockford clutch from a 55 cub. It was reinstalled. Apart for a rear main seal repair.

Instead of the IH clutch a Rockford built unit was used instead.Supposed to be a little heavier rated, and it seems everybody agrees they are better.
