I've got a W-9, runs good after head job this spring. I want to make her an even better puller. How hard is it to find biger pistons for this red rusty sled. I like cubes and could the boring after having the head off for so long(valves are hard to find).Thats all I'd like to do to it but any other ideas would be apprecated. Oh yea she also leakes out the rear main a little to much. Thats probaly a rope seal right. P.S. I'll paint her this winter if I don't take to many hours of college.

How hard is it to find overbore pistons & sleeves? Very hard! I looked long and hard for over 3 years before I finally found a set of NOS M&W overbore pistons & sleeves for the W-9 my dad's restoring. And when I finally did find them, they cost a very pretty penny to obtain. They're out there, though they're far and few between, and if you do find a set, be prepared to shell out some cash to get them.
Good luck with you project. How well does she pull already?

You need to do what my uncles father in law did. Way back when the old W-9 gave up the gost. He went and stufed in a Perkins diesel 6cilinder in her. Man what a tractor! Beleve it or not it bolted right up. Thay puled a 5 botom plow in third gear for many years. Now third is a little noisy! That will be my next project. I havent a clue how to get at the gears. I am getting ready to fix it up and try a little pulling with it. I figure it would be neet to show to. As it was a engine change for farming work, and I have never seen a nother one. Good luck with your W-9

Yea,
I think thay used a 4-cilinder one. My uncle had two new 4 cilinder ones just laying around. In the hopes of finding a blown Massy to put one in. Well apparently the engins last longer then the tractors, as he never found one to put them in!

What vehicle was that 6 cylinder used in. Perkins
is still building engines so parts may still be available. I wonder how many more tractors the Perkins will fit. I remember our neighbor had a Shepard diesel, guess they're about gone too. Hal
