I am looking at a IH 440 baler and need some info. What years were they built? Were they a good baler? How is CIH with parts support on older IH balers? What is the approximate value range on a 440 in good working order always shedded with good oringinal paint?

Thanks,
John

Thanks Guys,

This baler looks to be in above average condition. The price is also as I stop to ask tonight. It is at a local dealer. They are asking $2,500. I really like the way it is set upthough. Seems to be built heavier than the New Hollands he had setting there, I think one was a 275 and a 315 wire tie. Do the knotters give you any trouble?
Thanks,
John

John, i thumbed through some old buyers guides and found that 1971 would be close to the begining of them and 1976 would be close to the end of them. 1968 the 37 and 47 were being built. In 1978 the 435 and 445 were being built. It should be a good baler. I have a 435 and that is a good one. Parts you should be alright with i havent needed many but always was able to get what i needed. Depends on the area but here in northeast Ia. 1000 dollars give or take.
