I bought a sickle bar mower for my M yesterday. It looks really complete, with the exception of the PTO drive shaft. The part that goes to the tractor is missing. My questions are:

Where can I get a new wood pitman arm?

How many different types of sickle mowers were made for the M? This one has the axle mounts on it, not the universal drawbar mount. I have a special drawbar from another type of M mower, and this one is different.

Does anyone have a manual for this type of mower?

Thanks.

If it is the same as mine (see the help identify section pics with my name) TSC has a pitman that is an exact match. I had to buy one for mine. I haven't tried the dealer as I was not sure what model it was

Jon, It looks just like mine, but mine is not hydraulic driven. Instead, it has a long steel bar for pulling the trip. I believe it is an HM-16 from recent research.

Johng,

Binder books has the manual and your Case IH dealer should have the wooden pitman arm, or valu-#ilt Tractor supply.

Most farm stores have pitman arms.

In a pinch, a local wood worker can make one.
