coming up this friday is the first day of the 47th annual Mason steam and tractor show. Located in Mason MI. The grounds are on the corner of Hull rd. and Barnes rd. You can take US-127 to the barnes road exit. Mason is south of Lansing by about 15 miles and North of jackson MI by about 25 miles. They will have shingle mill, saw mill, steam crane, baker fans, steam tractor plowing demo's, threashing, flea market. the best part is if you bring a tractor you get in free. So far they are expecting about 30 steamers and 200 classic and antuiqe tractors. Hope to see you there. Matt

Matt: Thanks for the heads up. You and I had some discussion on this back about Easter time. Just about time for me to get lost in MI again. Only problem is, I know were Mason is.

I was at Canadian Customs today in Sarnia filing customs documents. Next to me at the counter was a guy asking questions about any problems with US residents bringing tractors to the Western ON Steam Threshers show at Brigden. He was an organizer of Brigden show. I could tell he was an Oliver guy. I asked him if a Farmall guy wearing an Oliver hat could get in to Brigden free. He didn't make any commitment. I've taken a bit of heat over that Oliver hat. Of course it was bought to satisfy a Deere guy who said I wasn't allowed in his shop with a red Farmall hat. I will say this, the mesh on back of Oliver hat does keep the sun's rays off my head better than my Farmall hat.

Well I hope to see you here this weekend. E-mail me your details as to what day. As for the oliver thing all I can say is I didn't think they made enough olivers to consider them a proper tractor. Grin Matt

Matt: Yes, but they were green, and a smooth and quiet green. Since buying the hat it has served it's original purpose very well. Just had to put that over bearing Deere guy in his place.

About the weekend, will see how my old carcass is feeling come Fri. night. Two things I need are; naw heck I've been to Mason, town is full of nice shade trees for old guys to chew the rag under on a hot day. I might bring along my 5 gal. oil pail as a seat, but then I my have difficulty convincing Customs I need carry that much oil for use in the Buick.
