with a 100 degree day approaching i worked all throught the night till 5am putting things back together. went in and took a nap. loaded some hay around 8am. went back to work on her around 9 taking care of some finishing touches and walla...she popped right off. now i'm just waiting for nightfall so i can hook her on the disc and seat the rings. too darn hot to do anything now, yes call me a wuss. supposed to be a low of 75 tonight, alot better working weather than the 103 my thermometer says now!

casey: I'm with you, sit it out where cool until the sun goes down.

Like I said before that 360 got to be one of the best diesels IH ever built. If it is second, then it's second only to the 361 - 407 used in 56 series tractors. But only by a wisker. Now Allan complained about the noise level. He should have had nieghbors like I did with 2 cycle Detroits. Even though they were 1/2 mile away, still a lot worse than anything IH built. Maybe Allan has delicate ears.

Casey, it's good to hear that you got that tractor back together again, only a week late, eh? The other thing about hot weather that would concern me would be breaking in a fresh motor when it's already warm out. Maybe it wouldn't matter, but there is a lot more friction/heat buildup in the motor before the rings are seated and the cylinders polished. Then again, maybe it's just me....

Casey,

Have sure been thinkin' bout you and that tractor.

I agree; it's 105 here and I'm trying to work on an old piece of machinery myself. Just too blessed hot!

I thought we agreed that you would ALWAYS provide us with pictures? :>)

Allan
