These weigh about 7800 lbs. They are rated at 73 HP.

No mention if it has NF, WF, cab, weights, ect. The TOTAL tractor weight can vary widely depending on what is included.

You could add powdered lead in the rear tires to make it really tip the scales.....

Actually the number I gave was for an International 706, the Farmall you list as 7800. Please accept my most humble apology. Also you give shipping weights, which is about as light as they get -- they probably weren't shipped with more than one or two sets of wheel weights, maybe none. Since cabs were just getting started then, I imagine most were open, but yes it depends on how they were equipped, thus your term "average shipping weight".

You would be hard pressed to get a 706 down that light , 706 gas narrow ft fast hitch around 6 or 7 gallons of gas and clam shell fenders with one 75 lb.er on was 8550 on the scales last night with driver in the seat .

tractor vet - did that 706 have fluid in the tires? It can make a big difference. I don't have my chart in front of me, but if I remember right an 18.4-34 tire(which you see a lot of on 706's) will hold about 1,000 pounds of calcium and water per tire, thus adding 2,000 pounds of weight to the tractor. I think most of the charts you see are quoting the weight as is with no fluid or wheel weights on the tractor.
