How do you disconnect the lower radiator hose? I loosened the screws in the hose clamps, but I still can't get the hose to move at all. Loosening the screws didn't really seem to loosen the hose clamps very much at all, although the front hose clamp can now turn on the hose.

Where is the thermostat and how do you replace it?

I just cut those old clamps and get them out of the way. then you can get a screwdriver or a knife under the hose. the thermostat is inside the casting at the front of the head.
