I have a 1946 Industrial A I know there was a bunch of different colors for these. I am trying to find out what color was mine. the engine and front axel looks to have been yellow, but the tins are all red and I cannot find any yellow paint as I scratch throught the paint. could this tractor been painted red and yellow ?. Just trying to find out a little about it before I paint it all one color. thanks

The red pigment in the paint was in short supply during and right after the war years. To augment the supply of red paint yellow pigment was added. It only made a slight difference in the shade of red but after years in the sun it would fade to yellow. This may account for your color questioning. Most IA's were red but there were also quite a few that were yellow. The choice is yours.

From the factory, it would be either all red or all yellow, or whatever color the agency wanted. Some were repainted by the company or agency that bought them -- they could have done anything.
