There is an auction tomorrow that has an IH 3082 backhoe attachment on it. Does anyone know anything about these? Digging depth etc etc? I can't reach the auctioneer for any more info.

Thanks,

Darren

It's made for an IH skidloader, but will work with cat I or II 3-pt. We have one on a 630 JD, and it works great-need extra weight up front however. It will dig 8' deep, has a loading height of 5', and a reach of 10' from center of pivot point. It's small and slow compared to the more modern equipment, but it beats a shovel. No idea what it would be worth now, but this one was purchased in 1974 for $2570. Have the operator's manual if you have any more questions.

I can do the extra weight up front. I have a 2000 loader that is going to be put on the 656. The only thing I am curious about is the height of the farmall 656 vs the utility model. I wonder if that is going to hack 2 feet off my digging depth, or if I just lower the 3pt down some more... We are going to the auction tomorrow, so I will post if we get it!

Thanks,

Darren

Depending on where you set your 3 pt., check to be sure the seat on the hoe will clear the seat on the tractor. The seat on the hoe sticks back a bit. The little hoe may force the 3 pt back up once you get to digging hard, so that may be something to watch. Pretty much ruined the battery box on the 630 this way. Good luck tomorrow.

Well, unfortunately, we didn"t manage to get that hoe bought. It was nice and in really good shape, but I couldn"t bring myself to go over $3000.. it sold for $2900, and I don"t think the guy that bought it was going to stop there. It was exactly what I want though, so I am going to look for another one.

Thanks for the info!

Darren

Sorry to hear you didn't get it. I am surprised to hear it went that high too. Good luck in your search.
