The gas tank on my 350 row crop leaks around the perimeter of the threaded fitting in the bottom of the tank. Has anyone had any luck fixing a leak like this? I have thought of soldering (sp?), using epoxy, or maybe seal-all. Any advice would be appreciated.

Jim I had an S10, I hit something in the road and cut a gash about an inch long and 1/8 wide. I work at an auto parts DC so I got a repair kit cleaned the tank good mixed up the repair goop and smeared it on let it dry it never did leak any.

You can solder that tank with a big soldering iron. The area needs to be cleaned of all paint and rust. Drain the tank and do not have any flames around the tank when doing this and no smoking either. The vent fitting on one my cars was leaking and that's how I fixed the leak. Be careful so the solder doesn't get into your threads. Hal

I would coat the male pipe threads with Gasoila
soft set thread compound. Just brush on a light coat over the threads. Ideal for oil, gasoline
and natural gas. Here's the website: Hal

The remedy for that leak that I prefer is to drain the tank, disconnect the fuel line at the sediment bowl, unscrew the top housing of the sediment bowl from the bottom of the tank. Clean up the threads on the sediment bowl and apply a coating of aviation type permatex sealer. Let set up for a couple minutes and then screw it into the bottom of the tank. Make sure you don't cross thread it as it is a very soft pot metal with 3/8ths pipe thread. Other may have different favorite fixes. Your mileage may vary.

I doesn't leak where the sediment bowl threads into the bottom of the tank. It leaks around the edge of the insert in the bottom of the tank that has the female threads.

You keeping your log books up to date? Had a real good showing at the Binder Bee minus the donuts you hired that guy to place on all the tractor's PTO Shields. Brad probly still looking for his box o'fat pills.
