What would be the best way to get more power out of a 706 gas 263 engine . Do they have a big bore engine kit for these like they do for M's. and are the sleeves wet or dry? Also how about dome pistons? thanks for any help

Like Kb said up grade to the 291 over bore kit , they make a special kit to take a 263 out to 291 but you still need to bore the block . this kit has a wide flange to fit in the upper counter bore because the 263 has a wide flange and the stock 291 has a small flange . I have done up several and if done correctly you will be in the mid 80's on horse power . Now keep in mind that to do the job wright you also have to recurve the dist and also go up on carb jet size . I go a couple steps past as i change the ventura to the 1 1/8 806 . The last one peaks out at over 97 .

They"re dry sleeves. Best way to go- late model 706"s and most every six-cylinder gas tractor after that had the C-291, which is just a 263 with a bigger bore. You"ll need to bore the block a little to make the 291 sleeves fit. That will be good for 76 horsepower. 806, 826, 856, and 715 Combine had a C-301 gas, good for close to 100 horsepower. Basically a sleeveless 263. It will bolt right in. You might even be able to run 301 pistons in your 263 with no sleeves, but I"m not sure if that will cause issues, being that there will be no sleeve flange for the head gasket"s fire ring to seat against. Electronic ignition will add 2-3 horses, and you can always play with the carb.
