OK - I know this is the Farmall/IHC forum! But I could not resist and I wandered over to Canandaigua yesterday to visit and photograph the bi-annual New York JD Expo put on by our "green" friends.

Despite heavy rain Friday and early Saturday (thus mud...), the Expo folks put on a good show. However I heard about all the 2 cylinder exhaust bark I'll need for a while!

Nice Pictures Bob, Thank you for posting them. I've always wanted to get to that show, but something always causes me to give up going at the last minute.....the high price of fuel did it this year. I guess I'll just have to go to the next one in a couple of years no matter what. It looks like I missed a "sea of mud", but also missed seeing some very interesting tractors and meeting some nice people. Thanks again, the pictures are good...love the 6030 and the "HR" especially.

It's a factory custom paint job for a highway department.

Dave - Dunno the story about the red 320. (The sky opened up moments after I took that shot - I didn't get a chance to look at the info that was posted on it).

That 1206 was parked near the back with a bush hog attached. I presume it is used by the Steam Show people to cut down the grass in the parking lots, infield, etc.

Bob; Kind of wondered the same as Dave. I'm thinking maybe, you must have been led astray. Just not sure whether that happened at beginning of day, middle of day or the end of the day.

I was not at all "astray" Hugh! Rather yesterday morning I was given the choice of A) helping my wife clean up the garage, or B) going to the John Deere show in the rain.

My truck was out the driveway before she finished stating option B...

Bob: I guess that would depend upon to whom's opinion we listened. I somehow have a gut feeling you didn't get off that easy.

Have given some thought to this Deere Expo outing over lunch and decided posting photos of it is no greater sin than posting photos of a Farmall guy with an Oliver hat. Then, I figured that one may have created a major rebuild of the camera. Didn't seem to affect it in the least.

Indeed Hugh....didn't "get off easy" at all! I had to spend a couple hours today helping transplant some kind of flowing plants in her garden. (I much prefer slogging around in the mud at an old iron show!)

Bob: Oh those gardening chores, I like the vegetable end of it and indeed we grow a lot of flowers in rows in our vegetable garden. Things like sweet peas, gladioli, marigolds, etc. Where I draw the line, Sandy has his mother trying to grow items not quite hardy enough for our climate. Right now it is purple millet, and keeping that alive around here is a formidable task.

Was in to the Tri County show here in Ilderton on Sat. They had about 150 tractors, must have been close to 30 each of AC and MH, probably 20 each of IH, JD, Ford and Case 10 each of Oliver, Cockshutt and MM, about a dozen others and a few steamers. Seemed like less Olivers and steamers than other years, but overall up probably by 40 tractors. This show is suffering on the attendance side. Not sure they know it but they need change. Parking is terible, plus they need to put a bit more effort into hospitality and socalizing. Complete displays of a particular make and not a soul to ask questions of. Did corner one guy in the JD booth, but soon as he saw someone he knew over my shoulder, he stopped talking to me in mid sentance. These guys need a wake up call, if it wasn't for the flea market and parts vendors, they would have little to offer.
