Just got the engine (C263) back together today (Dad's old tractor) and didn't see any oil coming up to the valve rocker arms. Pulled the head, gasket was on correctly so the oil hole was open. I now suspect the machine shop didn't index the 2nd cam bushing correctly and the oil hole is covered up. Man I hate to take it all the way back down to pull the cam and inspect the bushing but I guess I have no choice. Gloom, despair, and agony on me. Deep dark depression.....you know the rest of the song.

The 560 diesel 282 motor has the same setup and my machine shop screwed up the placement of the #2 bushing as well. rather than take it all back apart, we installed a T at the oil pressure port and ran a 1/8 copper line from there in through the valve cover into the bushing and works beter than new. I wanted lots of oil there since I'm turning the motor pretty hard.. Just silicone around the entrance hole and dont worry about it. migraine

I'm afraid I don't have any insight into this, but just wanted to say "I feel your pain". That is a miserable feeling.
