Farmall A wiring / 'A' connects to 'GEN' terminal

Farmall A/6V pos-ground/distributor.

All of my wiring schematics show the armature 'A' pole on the generator, connect to the voltage regulator post 'GEN'. My VR has only an L, BAT, and F terminal. So do I connect 'A' on the generator to Load, Battery, or Field, or do I have an improper VR?

Look under the vr, some have the gen terminal under the vr on the oposite side.

Yes there is a terminal on the underside although it is unmarked.

We did show continuity through that terminal but no charge was being indicated. I will re-polarize and try again, and increase the rpms to hopefully display some charging at the ammeter.

Any addition thoughts?

If it still doesn't charge, ground the "F" terminal at the generator, which will "full field" the generator, which should make it charge at full charge, even if there are problems in the voltage/current regualting section of the regulator.

(Do this for a short time, for testing only. Do not continure to operate it full-fielded.)
