I have a 1940 "A" tractor. The Magneto has a lever with a screw on the side with a cable attached. The cable goes back to the steering column to a knob. When you pull it, it moves the lever a very tiny bit. What is it for? What's it do ?

Yep there right . If you ever decide to take it off and put a push pull on and off switch on I will trade you a push pull switch for it. JON

It is the kill switch. When you pull the knob, the lever grounds out the magneto.

I think that's your shutoff cable. When you pull
that cable back it will ground out the magneto so the engine will shut down. Hal
