have a 706 question
left rear axel housing has been replaced by some one
the bull gear shaft extends too far out to get the plug in brake housing alowing water to get in

thats not to much of a concern but it must have been replaced with one from some other model
also oil from trans gets into that side i would like forit not to Could it be that the inner bearing cup in trans housing has been removed or is there some other way oil can get into bull gear housing

I am going to have to adjust or replace outer axel bearing anyway

what are your thoughts on this

thanks ed

Well the only one that would stick out is one out of a tractor that had a diff lock and it would be from the right side but could be switched , now if the bearings are now setted correctly then ya might have a problem . You could pull it and have it machined down so it would set in the housing. But i would like to see the end of it if you could post a picture i will be on and off the magic box this week end as i have some stuff that i have to fix at the farm and go finish up a S/MTA for one of my customers.

While the Tractor Vet has a lot of knowledge and gives excellent responses on this forum, by directing you rquestion only to him you may limit the responses you get from other people.
