I have a flooding problem with my stock carb; rebuilding it didn't help. Is there a better way to go than the stock Zenith carb.

thanks,

Tom

The stock carb is fine, my 46 A has never had a problem in the 30yrs we owned it untill I took it apart and put the needle in upside down. WOW and I do this stuff for a living on cars, did I ever feel stupid! You may have a bad Float or it set wrong. If you take the carb apart, put the needle in pointed end up. There is also a little plunger in the bottom of the needle that can fall out with a tiny spring, so make sure it's there. Turn the carb top upside down and the float resting with it's own weight pushing on the needle. The gap from the float to the body is 9/32" or if you just make it level it will come out real close. If your not sure your float is good buy a new one and a new needle from this web site it's much less hassel than pulling all your hair out and the girls all laugh at you!!!! If you still can't figure it out email me at hotwrench81@yahoo.com Happy tractoring DAN.
