On a Farmall B, can the lead pipe coming out of the exhaust manifold to the muffler be replaced, like an H or is the pipe an integral part of the manifold? It appears to be threaded in to the minifold but I can't tell for sure.

Thanks!

You may be surprised by what you can break loose from light tapping and a lot of patience. I usually go the other route (heavy banging with a hammer) and it most always gets me into more broken parts.

Soaked mine with Liquid Wrench every night for a week. I tapped straight down on it with a ball peen hammer for a while. Then used a 24" pipe wrench with a 20" exrension on it. Almost spun the tractor around befor it broke loose. Was afraid I would break the manifold but the pipe came loose first. I figured I had to replace the pipe and if I broke the manifold I'd replace it too. Penetrateing oil, tapping with a hammer and patience is the secret. Dave.

Hi Leon, Be careful when trying to remove the pipe from the exhaust manifold that you don't break the manifold. That pipe has probably rusted
over the years. Use an acetylene/oxygen torch to heat the manifold around the old pipe. Put some anti-seize on the threads of the new pipe when you install it. Hal

Yes, it is screwed in. Inch & 1/2 pipe thread, if I remember right.
