My first tractor pull, pulled 248 feet with stock m with rear weights and a 3 point. I weighed in at 5890lbs pulled in the 6500 class. I thought that was real good for the first time. I also put the tractor on the dyno 41 hp. person told me it probably has firecrater pistons in. this is a distillate model, when I checked the compresion I had 90 psi in 3 cyls, and 75 in 1 what do you guys think. Brad.

Throw 3 pairs of wheel weights on the rear wheels, you'll be 6450 and tough to beat in the 6500 class. Maybe hang a 45 lb front weight on the frame with a bolt; now you're about 6495.

Probably has the super M kit in it. 4 inch pistons. I bet that a ring and valve job would really wake the 'ol girl up, but it isn't bad the way it is. You wouldn't happen to have been in New Market were you?

I was there, but just watching this year. My old M was well overdue for a facelift, thought I had time to get it done before the 4th, but the final coat of paint went on the afternoon of the 3rd, and then it still needed to be put back together. Maybe next year.

It seems I always find out about the shows after they're over... That's a fair drive for me, but not horrible. I'm up in Central Iowa.

thanks,
mark

The antique and classic tractor pull was kind of a small potatoes affair, mostly locals just wanting to see what their tractor can do, but everyone is welcome and invited next year. The main pulling event is a sanctioned pick-up and garden tractor pull, gets pretty wild but way too loud for me. The fireworks display in the evening absolutely will not take a back seat to anyone, totally awesome, set to music with a very patriotic theme. New Market has been doing this ever since the early 50s, and it only gets better each year.
