I have my 46 A rebuilt and running and am reusing the original distillate manifold. The heat control lever is frozen at the intermediate mark but the manual says it should be set to the bottom (cold) mark for running on gasoline. What effect will leaving it at the intermediate setting have on normal operation? I was afraid to work too hard at breaking the lever loose because I might destroy the whole manifold.

You might try some Kroil penetrating oil. This stuff really works wonders.Look up The toll free number and tell them your location to see where the nearset dristributor is to you. Cost me 9.95 a spray can here in Alaska. Way cheaper than ordering it. I have no idea what effect a frozen heat control lever would have. I'm sure it was put on for a purpose. I have a 1938 F12 that is stuck also. Have not tried to free it yet.
